Yokohama, Japan, June 4, 2021-(ACN Newswire)-Mitsubishi Power, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, signed three 16-year long-term service agreements (LTSA) at the same time, covering six M701F gas turbines, two The units were delivered to Sidi Krir Power Station, El Atf Power Station and Cairo North GTCC Plant in Egypt. These plants operate natural gas gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) generators with a rated output of 750 MW. Mitsubishi Electric will provide maintenance, management, parts supply, parts repair and remote monitoring services for gas turbines to ensure stable and high-availability operation of facilities and improve the stability of electricity supply throughout Egypt.

The LTSA signing ceremony was held on May 31 at the Sidi Krir power station about 50 kilometers west of Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast. In addition to regional executives from Mitsubishi Electric Power and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the attendees also included Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), the Japanese Embassy in Egypt (EoJ), and Japan International Cooperation from the Ministry of Electric Power and Renewable Energy, leading the power generation and transmission business in Egypt. Today’s ceremony has a dual purpose. In order to further celebrate and confirm the 80% upgrade and restoration progress funded by JICA, the contract was signed in May 2019 with the two power stations of the Sidi Krir and El Atf power stations. Although the coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing, they are expected to be completed by November 2021.
The Sidi Krir Power Station and El Atf Power Station have been upgraded to increase power plant output, increase power generation efficiency, and reduce equipment downtime. The Cairo North GTCC power plant was completed in May 2019 and is now in operation with higher efficiency and output.
