The factory number of the 10-pound product to be recalled is “Est. 8256”, and the factory number of the above-mentioned 16-ounce product is “EST 2446”, and must pass the USDA inspection mark. These items are sold online and shipped to retail stores in California. The 10-pound product is sold in bulk packaging and removed from its original packaging, repackaged and relabeled for online sales. The retail store removes the product from its original packaging and places it in a saleable bin.
When it was determined that the label did not correctly list all the sub-ingredients, the problem was discovered during regular FSIS label verification activities.
