Laurentian Bank Financial Group Announces Preferred Share Dividend

May 18, 2021, Montreal (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)-Laurentian Bank of Canada (TSX:lb) (Hereinafter referred to as the “bank”) announced that its board of directors announced today the following dividends:

  • The preferred stock series 13 dividend is US$0.2576875, which should be paid on June 15, 2021 to shareholders of record at the close of business on June 7, 2021.
  • The dividend for the 15 series of preferred shares is $0.365625, which should be paid on June 15, 2021 to shareholders of record at the close of business on June 7, 2021.

As far as the company is concerned, the aforementioned dividends are designated as qualified dividends. Income Tax Law (Canada) and any similar provincial and territorial legislation.

Preference shares are qualified shares under the Bank’s shareholder dividend reinvestment and stock purchase plan (the “plan”). Therefore, holders of such shares may choose to reinvest their dividends in the newly issued ordinary shares of the Bank. Such purchases will be made in accordance with the applicable investment price under the plan, minus a 2% discount, and will not charge any brokerage commission or any form of service fee.

In addition, holders of such stocks have the right to pay an optional monthly cash payment to purchase additional common shares in accordance with the terms of the plan.
