The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) commemorates the life of David Stuart, a renowned public health professional, LGBTQ+ activist and human rights advocate who worked at London’s largest sexual health clinic (known as 56 Dean Street) work. David passed away suddenly this week.
Over the years, David has worked closely with AHF UK on a number of projects, including impulse london, Sexual and Mental Health Organizations for Gay Men, and Access to Rapid HIV Testing in High-Risk Populations. On Dean Street, David spearheaded an intervention to help those who engage in risky sexual behaviour while on drugs, a practice known as chemsex. His work has drawn global attention to the problem of chemical sexuality, prompting efforts to better understand and address it in the context of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections prevention.
