Paykel is a practicing lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, life sciences law, and team leadership. Most recently, he served as Deputy General Counsel for Waymo, a Google spin-off company under Alphabet, focusing on developing the self-driving car market. . There, Paykel is responsible for overseeing privacy issues, product consulting and all regulatory matters. She has also served as the vice president and head of legal affairs and compliance for Proteus Digital Health, Inc., a medical device and analysis company, and the assistant general counsel and head of the business group of Genentech Healthcare Legal Group. She has also held leadership positions at California Blue Shield and CVS Caremark.
