May 17, 2021, Bangor, Maine, USA-Husson University announced today that it will take an important new step to require all students on campus in the fall to be vaccinated against COVID to protect the health of its campus community . -19.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, Husson University’s priority has been to protect the health of our campus community. To this end, the university has developed a series of campus healthcare protocols that strictly abide by federal and state Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines. . “With the COVID-19 vaccine now being distributed nationwide, the CDC strongly recommends that every qualified person be vaccinated as soon as possible,” Clark continued. “These vaccinations are the best way to ensure that everyone on campus avoids serious health complications related to the coronavirus. That’s why Hasen decided to require COVID-19 vaccination for all returning students this fall.”
The university has now announced the news so that students will have enough time to vaccinate before classes resume on August 30, 2021. Once students have been vaccinated, they need to upload a copy of their vaccination record to their student portal. Since all students must submit an official immunization record before registration, existing students are already familiar with this process.
Any student who has been vaccinated can immediately upload a copy of their vaccination record to the student portal. This document shows when and where the student was vaccinated. Students can also choose to mail a copy of the vaccination document to the health center. Any online student who will not have physical contact with Husson University’s Bangor campus community is not required to submit a vaccination record. Husson has established a COVID-19 information line for any students who have questions.
“Since this year, we have obtained cooperation from students to comply with our campus testing protocol, which is great. The compliance rate of Husson University students passing the COVID-19 test is 99.5%. Since August 26, 2020, Of the 21,494 tests performed on students, only 152 returned positive. This means that our percentage of positive tests among students is only 0.7%,” said Pamela Kropp-Anderson, Director of Student Life at Husson University.
Kropp-Anderson continued: “Vaccination is our next logical step in protecting our campus community from COVID-19.
