Fujitsu reports rapid progress in the first 100 days of the UN Coordinating Sustainable Development Goals Community Initiative – QNT Press Release

Tokyo, July 2, 2021-(JCN News Line)-Fujitsu today reported that its new SDG Communities (1) global initiative has made rapid progress to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which includes 17 goals The global goal of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is to create a better and more sustainable future for all.

Since the launch of the SDG Community Program in February, more than 30,000 Fujitsu employees worldwide are eligible to participate. In order to get involved, employees choose one or more SDGs that they consider to be personally motivated, and then join a virtual global SDG community to work with colleagues around the world to support common causes.

After the first 100 days, the Fujitsu Sustainable Development Goals Community Program is gaining momentum.
-Since its launch, employee participation has increased by more than 90%, and more than 2,000 employees have actively participated. The plan has also been recognized within Fujitsu for its empathy in promoting internal cultural change.
-The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (in order of popularity) with the largest number of enrollments in the Fujitsu plan are good health and well-being (SDG 3), quality education (SDG 4), zero hunger (SDG 2) and no poverty (sustainable) Development goal 1).
-In early April, Fujitsu invited all employees around the world to share the best volunteer activities they have participated in and the reasons for such a significant impact, thereby encouraging cross-talk in the SDG community. SDG community members voted for their favorite example, and the winning charity selected by each of the 17 communities received a donation of US$500 from Fujitsu (2).
-To support SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Fujitsu organized a global webinar on plastic waste reduction, attended by 100 SDG community members.
-Fujitsu is promoting continuous virtual discussions on health innovation, bringing together employees from all over the world to share information about SDG 3 (good health and well-being) in their region.
