Flora Growth Corp. (NASDAQ stock code:FLGC) (“Flora” or “Company”), a leading all-outdoor grower and global manufacturer of cannabis products and brands, has hired Brigitte Baptiste as the company’s strategic consultant. Brigitte will work with scholars and researchers from EAN University to assist the company in researching and developing sustainable and bioprospecting programs in Flora’s global premium brand portfolio, and will oversee and develop new cannabis and cannabis research projects at EAN University.

As part of the Flora program, a new internship will be created to study cannabis plants throughout the supply chain, including their carbon footprint, weather footprint and related energy output. Particular attention will be paid to sustainability initiatives, including examining research results to introduce more sustainable processes in our brands, products and value chains, while educating students at EAN University on the benefits of sustainable entrepreneurship.

Brigitte is an ecologist and expert in environmental issues and biodiversity in Colombia. She is a member of the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel of the Intergovernmental Science and Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, and is a national representative member of the American Institute of Global Change. From 2011 to 2019, she served as the director of the famous Alexander von Humboldt Institute of Bioresources and became the director of EAN University in September 2019. Brigitte studied biology at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and then completed a master’s degree in conservation and tropical development at the University of Florida.
