Due to possible health risks, Smilin’ Bob’s voluntarily recalled Smilin’ Bob’s smoked fish sauce products

Key West, Florida, June 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – Smilin’ Bob’s voluntarily recalled Smilin’ Bob’s Original Smoked Fish Dipping Sauce and Smilin’ Bob’s All Natural Smoked Fish Dipping Sauce.This recall is because Banner Smoked Fish, Inc. has recalled smoked fish that may be contaminated Listeria. Smilin’ Bob’s used the smoked fish recalled by Banner Smoked Fish, Inc. in the following products. The recall is only for the following products.

Listeria It is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, infirm or elderly people, and other people with weakened immune systems. Although healthy people may only experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria Infection can cause miscarriage and stillbirth in pregnant women.

No disease has been reported so far.

Smilin’ Bob’s is working with distributors and retailers to isolate and recycle any affected products remaining on store shelves. A total of 1,261 boxes were distributed to retailers in various states. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, with Virginia.

How to identify recalled products:
These containers are printed on the side of each container with the “best use date” date as shown below, and the batch number of each product is marked on the side or lid (see photo). The recall only applies to products with the “best use period” dates listed in the table below.

After learning that Banner Smoked Fish, Inc. expanded the scope of the recall, Smilin’ Bob decided to voluntarily recall the listed products.

Product safety and consumer confidence are critical to Smilin’ Bob’s and its customers. Consumers who have purchased any of the above recalled products are urged to return them to the place of purchase immediately for a full refund. Consumers in doubt can call 305-395-8382 at any time.

This recall was completed with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration.
