GUELPH, Ontario, Jan. 14, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a humanitarian organization, supports many rural communities in remote Papua New Guinea.
There were many happy faces as Alberta native and MAF pilot Ryan Cole made a test landing at Papua New Guinea’s Mui airstrip in late 2021. The airstrip has been in use for almost 25 years due to serious repairs. The surrounding community worked together to complete this difficult task, working to fix it and bring it up to standard. Now officially open, it will once again be a lifeline for the 14 surrounding villages and the 10,000 people who live there.
