The signing ceremony was held in Aqaba, Jordan. The Prime Minister of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Bisher Al-Khasuna, was present on behalf of His Excellency Nasser Schrader, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Jordan; HE Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al Baloushi, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Minister of Finance His Excellency Dr. Mohamad Al-Ississ; He Ying Investment Minister Khairy Amr; and His Excellency Dr. Nawaf Tall, Minister of State in charge of follow-up actions and government coordination; and He Ying. Nayef Ahmad Bakheet, chief commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and chairman of the Aqaba Development Corporation, and some officials from both sides. Hussein Ali Al-Safadi, CEO of Aqaba Development Corporation, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al-Shamisi, CEO of AD Ports Group, signed four strategic agreements and an agreement on terms and conditions.

In addition to exploring a multi-purpose port and King Hussein International Airport’s development and modernization of the terms of the head agreement, the strategic partnership also involves the development of the cruise terminal Marsa Zayed and the development of an advanced digital port community system.

Massazayed Land Agreement

The agreement involves AD Ports Group developing 1.2 million square meters of land in the first phase of 3.2 million Masazayed area development, which will include cruise terminal, tourism, leisure, and residential projects. The development project plans to position Aqaba as the main preferred Red Sea destination.
