Social media paying tribute to the author includes the rich and famous.
“Eric Carle is dead, but he left us with memorable hungry caterpillars, brown bears, brown bears, books I read to my children and now grandchildren,” the actress Mia Farrow tweeted. “He is full of love for his family and expresses gratitude to Mr. Carl.”
