After the former police officer was arrested for two other murders, seven women and three children were found buried in the former police’s property.
The buried bodies of seven women and three children were found on the property of a former police officer in El Salvador.
The country’s attorney general’s office said that 51-year-old Hugo Osorio, Chavez Osorio, was under investigation for alleged sexual crimes and 13 murders.
According to the Associated Press, he was first arrested last Saturday for the murder of a woman and her adult daughter.
The arrest occurred after a neighbor in the western city of Chalchuapa called the police and reported hearing a woman crying for help.
The police found the body of a 57-year-old woman and her 26-year-old daughter in a pool of blood in the house, showing signs of sexual abuse.
The investigation led to excavations in various places on the property. Among the bodies found were a 7-year-old girl and two boys, 2 and 9 years old.
The police did not elaborate on why there were 13 murders under investigation.
The Attorney General’s Office said on Twitter that some of them appeared to have been killed two years ago.
Seven other possible graves of the property are still under investigation. At least 25 people are missing in the area.
Investigators say that Chavez Osorio was fired in 2005 for sexual assault and was sentenced to five years in prison.
According to the case, the prosecutor issued arrest warrants for nine other suspects who had acted as accomplices in 13 murders, including the murder of 8 women.
