Israeli army kills Palestinian officers in “undercover mission” | Middle East News


At least three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack on the city of Jenin, which occupied the West Bank before dawn, including two intelligence officials.

The Palestinian Authority said on Thursday that in a pre-dawn raid, Israeli forces shot and killed at least three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, including two Palestinian Authority (PA) military intelligence officials.

According to the Palestinian Wafa News Agency, the Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the two officials as 23-year-old Adam Yasser Allawi and 32-year-old Tesir Issa, and added that the third victim was Jameel. Amuri, he was held in an Israeli prison.

A spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned what he called a “dangerous Israeli escalation,” saying that the three were killed by Israeli special forces and disguised as Palestinians in the arrest and attack.

Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudaina called on the international community and the United States to intervene to stop such attacks.

There are conflicting reports on the details of the incident.

The Israeli military and police did not immediately respond to requests for comment. However, an Israeli official told Reuters anonymously that the Palestinian military officer was killed in the exchange of fire.

Al Jazeera’s Fawcett said: “Local witnesses said the Israeli army also opened fire on Palestinian military intelligence personnel – they were near the scene, outside their own security building.”
