Covid…This is the last thing I want her to test positive when Kierstyn was very ill a few weeks ago when our doctor sent us to the hospital.
One Sunday night a few weeks ago, she suddenly had a fever, and we thought it was urticaria in a very bad condition. We called the nurse after get off work and she let us in and checked in the walk-in clinic that night. They think this is just some kind of allergic reaction + virus. They gave her Benajun, told us what to pay attention to, and then drove us home.
On Sunday night/Monday morning, she had a fever and her urticaria became more serious. She is in pain, and my mother feels something is wrong. On Monday morning we called our pediatrician and asked Kierstyn to visit her. Kierstyn’s fever continued to rise and her rash/urticaria got worse, she couldn’t accept it, so our pediatrician sent us to the hospital.
In addition to giving her intravenous fluids and medications, they also performed a series of tests/blood tests… When she tested positive for rhinovirus and Covid, we were all shocked. (When the lady came in in a dangerous-looking suit and told us the result, we knew what had happened!!)
They found some medicines to ease her emotions, calm her down, and her breathing looked good, so they sent us home medicines and things to look for and pay attention to (they thought she would be more comfortable at home, They basically say that what they do in the hospital can also be done at home because she does not need any oxygen or anything).
In this week’s program, we will share our experience, Kierstyn’s recovery process, our understanding of MIS-C, surprising information that we never expected from the test results, and what we learned from this experience Lessons learned.
At the beginning of this episode, we started as usual-give you some life updates, talk about books, share things that save our lives, and share some feedback from the audience!
Note: I know that even talking about this topic can be hot and controversial-this is what I am trying to avoid in the content posted here. We want to share our story because when Kierstyn was so sick, many of you were caring and praying. However, we tried to tell it in a way that would not cause any dispute or trigger. Instead, we hope it helps. As always, comments seeking debate or related to hot issues will be deleted. There are many other spaces on the Internet to discuss these things. Thank you for making it a blog without debate and politics!
