What is a non-file manager tool and how to use it?
The non-declaration tool is a feature on the IRS website that allows people who do not need to file a tax return to provide the information the IRS needs to process stimulus payments, and Child tax creditFor those who must file a tax return, the IRS will receive this information from their tax return. But some people do not need to file a tax return because they have little or no income.
This function was originally developed to distribute the first round of stimulus inspections to non-declarants.
To use non-file manager tools, you need to provide:

- Bank account number and routing number
- Identity protection number (if the IRS provided you with one earlier this year)
Who should use the non-declarant tool?
If you have not filed a 2020 tax return and do not plan to file one, you should only use the non-reporting tool. After you provide the information listed above, the IRS will tell you if you are eligible for the child credit. If you have not received a stimulus check and do not need to file a tax return, you can also use non-declaration tools to get paid.
If you filed a tax return in 2019 and reported all your dependents, you do not need to use this tool because the IRS already has the required information. Likewise, if you used a non-declaration tool to get a stimulus check and reported all your dependants last year, you don’t need to use it now.
How can I update my information through IRS?
Do not use non-declaration tools to update information that has been archived in the IRS. The Internal Revenue Service will release an updated portal for child tax credits later this month.
You will be able to provide information for children you cannot report on past tax returns, report changes in income or marital status, and update your mailing address. The portal will also allow you to update your bank information, while the IRS usually did not allow you to update through its website in the past.
The monthly payment is a temporary 2021 advance payment Tax credit USD 3,600 for children under 6 years old, USD 3,000 for children 6 to 17 years old. From July to December, half of the credit is paid every month. The remaining half will be paid as a tax credit next year.
If you wish to receive the full amount within the tax time next year, you will be allowed to use the portal to opt-out of the advance payment.
