Comic book stores in the U.S. and other regions will give away millions of comic books for free to celebrate the 20th edition Free manga day Saturday, August 14.
The event is traditionally held on the first Saturday of May, but is “delayed indefinitely” in 2020. Organizers hope that postponing it to August will minimize any interruptions due to COVID-19.
Special editions of 50 comic books will be provided for free on Saturday.
What to expect on free manga day
Please consult your local comic book store, or Find one here, To find events in your area. Anyone who asks on a first-come, first-served basis can get a free title.
Some of the most anticipated this year Free title include:
- “Avengers Hulk” (Marvel Comics)
- “Blade Runner Oneshot” (Titan Comics)
- “Key role wizard” (Dark Horse)
- “Lady Mechanika” (Image Manga)
- “The Adventures of the Higher Republic of Star Wars” (published by IDW)
Many stores will also give away loot, movie posters and other free gifts.
Not just for comic book people
For comic fans, Free Comic Day is not just the second Christmas.
It exists to support local comic book stores and help new readers find great comics and graphic novels.
If you like non-superhero stories, including Archie and young adult manga, you will be happy to find that everyone has something.
Celebrations are a fun way to introduce the comic community to your kids-or discover it yourself.
You may discover new hobbies that the whole family can enjoy together.
