3 books I recently completed

Welcome to my book update post, where I share my recently completed book + my honest thoughts and star ratings.

My reading goals for 2021

In 2021, I set a goal of reading 3 books per week 1 fiction book, 1 non-fiction book and 1 audiobook every week. I know this is a bold goal, but reading is my hobby. It is a way for me to learn, challenge my thinking, improve the level of writers and communicators, and be inspired and encouraged by inspiring stories.

I have several shelves full of books (Most of my time), so I decided to select 52 books from the shelf for reading this year (see List of 52 books I plan to read in 2021). I will also read other books I found/sent to me, which aroused my interest. In addition, I plan to read a lot of audio books (I can get free from the Libby app).

Three books I recently completed

24/7: feel less busy when doing more work

First of all, I have to say that I have heard the idea of time tracking for many years. But until I started listening Off work, I don’t think it’s worth the effort. It feels like a lot of extra work.

If you have been following here for a while, you may know that I used Google Calendar + daily time limit to-do list Stay on track. I am naturally more efficient and productive, and I tend to have a high level of work ability, and I can do a lot of work most of the time.

in Off work Laura shared how beneficial it would be to actually observe and track what we are doing every minute of the day, instead of just following what we feel or think we are doing most of the day. I am curious, if I track my time, I will find out where I can improve, or spend a lot of time filling a small rectangle on the paper for a week! I don’t know before actually trying time tracking, right?

Can’t Steal My Joy: Another Brave Journey

This is a sad story about what it feels like to make a very difficult diagnosis for a child… which will eventually take their lives. This is also a story about what it looks like to have courage and faith in Christ in the face of deep pain, sorrow and loss.

What Bekah shared in this book gave me a lot of inspiration and inspiration. I think this will be a real encouragement to anyone you know who is experiencing a debilitating illness or the experience of losing a sick child.

My own criticism is that this book is a bit like jumping around, and I try to follow the story locally. I think there are many good things in this book, but I would like a stronger story arc and editing.

Verdict: 3 stars

Swan’s horn

We completed the last story of EB White in this three-book collection (all combined into one book). This is one of the three books I have read before, but I really enjoy reading it to Kierstyn again.

This is an interesting story-not exactly what you expected when you first started reading. If you have kids around 5-8 years old (or about 5 years old) who love animals and read aloud for adventure, I think they will really like “Swan Trumpet”. did you see it yet?
