U.S. agency signs memorandum to promote competition in maritime industry Reuters

Washington (Reuters)-The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Maritime Commission signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to promote cooperation and communication between agencies to promote competition in the maritime industry.

The memorandum establishes a framework for the antitrust department and committee of the Ministry of Justice to continue regular discussions and reviews of law enforcement and regulatory matters affecting competition in the maritime industry. President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Friday to reduce transportation costs.
