Roommates, in a recent interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci, discussed the new Delta variant of COVID-19, Gail King Said that she is taking strong precautions against the virus-including banning her own family from attending Thanksgiving if they are not vaccinated.
Gayle King talking with Dr. Anthony Fauci, a US COVID-19 consultant, on the “CBS This Morning” show Explained her reason On this Thanksgiving Day, let all her relatives who have not been vaccinated keep their distance:
“I don’t know how many times you can say to people,’Listen, this will save your life’. Some of my own family members and I have this problem. I am going to ban them during the Thanksgiving holiday. The intensity of what I said to you.”
Dr. Fauci responded to her comments and pushed more Americans to continue to be fully vaccinated because the more intense Delta variant continues to spread rapidly across the United States. According to the latest report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 48% of the U.S. population is now fully vaccinated, which is equivalent to 159.5 million people. At the same time, nearly 185 million people (or 55%) received at least one dose of the vaccine.
As we previously reported, according to Johns Hopkins University, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in 45 states, of which 34 states have reported an increase of 50%.
CNN also reported that most of the new cases are people who have not been vaccinated. Dr. Rochelle Varensky, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said: “In June, 99% of COVID-19-related deaths were also unvaccinated people.”
