The Bangladesh national team coach Jamie Day expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of preparation for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers to be held in Qatar next month.
Bangladesh plans to play the remaining three qualifying matches against Afghanistan on June 3, India on June 7 and Oman in Doha on June 15.
Bengal Tigers Travel to Saudi Arabia and participate in several practice matches as part of their preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The team was originally scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia on the morning of June 24, but it was postponed because the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) was unable to arrange a quarantine exemption from the local government.

“Obviously, this is not ideal preparation for the players. It is also disappointing, but the trust in those players who are still motivated and hope to be rewarded soon.
“Compared with other teams going to Qatar or abroad, we are lucky. Yes, it is difficult to prepare in this situation. We must have better facilities there, better training venues, and adapt to the weather if we Go there in due course,” said the former Arsenal youth player.
What is the problem?
BFF Secretary-General Abu Nayeem Shohag said that although they did obtain an oral permit for quarantine exemption from Saudi Arabia, they were advised not to travel unless they obtained the news through official communications.
Shawhag said: “After obtaining the oral confirmation about their exemption from quarantine, we have completed all the work, but they asked us to postpone the trip by one day.”
Bangladesh’s performance in the World Cup qualifiers so far
Bangladesh is currently ranked last in Group E because they have only scored one point in the five games they have participated so far. The only points they scored were against India in Kolkata in October 2019, when they drew 1-1 against the Blue Tigers.

Under the guidance of coach Igor Stimac, the Indian football team has arrived in Qatar and started training. India played its first match against the host on June 3, followed by Bangladesh on June 7 and Afghanistan on June 15.
