Balochistan’s Yasir Shah took a stupendous catch to dismiss Sindh’s Hasan Mohsin during the second semi-final of the Pakistan Cup at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The veteran leg-spinner bowled a good length delivery around the middle-stump and Mohsin charged down to hit the ball down the ground. But the batter could only get a leading edge.

But Mohsin seemed to have lobbed the ball quite a distance away from Shah. The latter, thereafter, pulled out a full-stretch dive on to his left side and completed the catch with both hands. Mohsin was left stunned by Shah’s efforts as the Balochistan players celebrated the dismissal.

While chasing 264 to win, Sindh lost their sixth wicket with the score at 209. Mohsin perished after scoring 15 runs off 23 balls with the help of one four before Shah’s brilliant catch sent him packing.

Shah also picked up the crucial wicket of Sindh opening batter, Sharjeel Khanwho scored 50 runs off 57 balls with the help of seven fours and one six. Ayaz Tasawwar took a decent catch to give Shah his first wicket. Shah finished his spell with impressive figures of 10-0-54-2.

On the back of Shah’s spell, Balochistan won the game by 13 runs after restricting the opponent to 250 for nine in 50 overs. They will now lock horns with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the final of the tournament on Friday, April 1 at the same venue.

Balochistan opening batter Haseebullah Khan won the Player of the Match award for scoring 131 runs off 114 balls with the help of 18 fours and one six. Asad Shafiq also made 64 useful runs and helped Balochistan score 263 runs on the board.

As far as Shah is concerned, he has been a prolific wicket-taker for Pakistan over the years, especially in Test cricket. In 46 Tests, the tweaker has taken 235 wickets with 16 five-wicket hauls to show for his efforts.

But he hasn’t played international cricket since August 2021. Shah wasn’t a part of the three-match Test series against Australia that Pakistan lost 0-1 after the loss in the Lahore Test. Shah also has a Test century to his name against Australia.
