There is no Stokes. There is no balance. -toss

Regarding England’s participation in the New Zealand series test class, please think quickly. What did you do to the team? At first glance, I was very happy. Every player selected deserves his place. However, when I began to consider the composition of the final XI, this concern gradually spread.

Of course, the question is how the English will get a balanced XI from the 15 names chosen by Ed Smithless. This is not their fault, because it is difficult to replace Ben Stokes, but to my shock, we suddenly changed from a team full of all-rounders to all-rounders.

This is not a complaint to anyone. That’s it. Both James Bracey and Ollie Robinson deserve the honor they deserve. Craig Overton will never be a world-class operator, but he will never let England down. In addition, even though he is not Stokes or Chris Voachs, he is actually capable of dealing with Willow. Maybe scouts and Silverwood think he is the best of the most perfect choices?

However, none of this has changed the fact that England will not be able to enter the field through a truly balanced XI, which is the first test. We are either seam shorts or batsman shorts, or we lack darts, or we are forced to make a one-step attack. After all, if there are only 4 professional bowlers participating in the game, I can’t see them choosing wood or stone. This is much more dangerous than painting your private parts in nectar and standing next to the hive.

So what will England do? I hope the shots look solid enough. Burns, Sibley, Crawley, Root, Lawrence and Pope make up a reasonable top 6. Then I hope Foakes will be Bracey’s janitor at the age of 7 and get a nod. But what should we do? There are only 4 bowlers’ rooms now. And no one can hit the ball like Woakes.

If it is assumed that Anderson and Broad will play, then Overton, Robinson and Leach will not compete for the final position. If they choose Overton (mainly to strengthen the attack) and Leach, then the rhythm of the offense will be very fast. If they don’t consider Leach and choose Overton and Robinson, it will look more one-dimensional-don’t forget that the latter can also make a difference.

Given Silverwood’s worrisome track record-two inexplicable five-man seam attacks in the past-my best bet is that England will choose 4 people (at full pace) for all seam attacks and ignore Leach. The words will be passed to the ground crew to leave some grass on the ground. The problem is that if England went this way, New Zealand would also lick their lips. Their seamers are more capable of taking advantage of off-court actions.

Another option for England is to exclude Lawrence or the Pope (some suspect the former) and bring the batter’s shorts into the game. In this case, they may choose Bracey over Foakes, because Bracey may be considered a better batsman at the age of 6. However, this will put the party in the low-end position, occupied by people like Overton and 7, perhaps Robinson at the age of 8. It may be too high for all these people. However, at least this route will allow them to drive wood or stone into the ground and inject a little step to the side.

It must be admitted that this is the root cause of all problems. And I’m not sure what I will do. However, I can know one thing with 100% certainty. The incredible Ed Smith would groan at the back of the room, yelling “Total Cricket, Total Cricket, why no one listens to me”? I won’t answer that, Ed.
