Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer are ready for training after recovering from Covid-19. However, they are unlikely to be available for selection for next match against West Indies scheduled for Wednesday.

“Both of them (Shreyas and Shikhar) are allowed to light training as per the protocol. However, the medical team will monitor them before a decision is taken about their availability,” a source in the BCCI said. Last week these two had tested positive for Covid-19 and now since they have tested negative they will do some light training at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday evening. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikward another player who was infected would be still in the isolation. The BCCI medical team is keeping an watchful eye on everyone.

India played its first match on Sunday that saw Ishan Kishan who was drafted into the team much later opening the innings with captain Rohit Sharma. In a low-scoring match, India chased down 177 runs successfully by losing only 4 wickets. Rohit Sharma scored 60 while Kishan added 28 runs. Suryakumar Yadav remained not out with 34 along with Deepak Hooda (26*). India are currently leading the 3-matchs ODI series 1-0.
