After opting to play first, the Giants faltered as the Maharajas scored a massive 209 over three on the board. Naman Ojha batted 140 for 69 at-bats, making 15 fours and nine sixes. He was backed up by Maharajas’ skipper Mohammad Kaif, who had a solid 47-ball 53 with one four and three sixes.
Yusuf Pathan, who won the best player award against the Asian Lions, shot a 6 on the only ball he faced. Kevin Pietersen shone with a 27-ball 53 in the chase, but the rest of the Giants’ batsmen found it tough. Just when the Giants seemed to be in trouble, Tahir joined the party and helped his team take victory from defeat.
