Women’s ashes were raised to allow World Cup isolation

England and Australia have agreed to advance the women’s ashes match by a week so that the two teams can be isolated before the World Cup in New Zealand.

The multi-format series was originally scheduled to start as an independent test match on January 27, followed by three 2020 and three one-day international matches, which will end on February 19.

However, a mandatory 10-day quarantine is required before arriving at the Global Championships, where England will defend the 2019 title, so this has changed.

The Canberra test match will retain its place in the diary, but it will now take place before T20 in Adelaide. The first ODI will also be held at Manuka Oval in Canberra, and the last two games will be held at Junction Oval in Melbourne from February 6th to 8th.

The England team hopes to recapture the ashes for the first time since 2015, having lost two of the past three series and won one.

The revised schedule of women’s ashes:

January 20: The first T20 (Adelaide)
January 22: Second T20 (Adelaide)
January 23: The 3rd T20 (Adelaide)
January 27-30: Test match (Canberra)
February 3: First ODI (Canberra)
February 6th: Second ODI (Melbourne)
The third ODI (Melbourne) on February 8
