Former England all-around player Adam Hollioake joined the team’s coaching staff and was hit by the COVID-19 outbreak before the fourth Ash Test against Australia.
The game is scheduled to start in Sydney on Tuesday, and Australia has retained the Ashes, leading the five-game series 3-0 in two tests.
Hollioake will work with his old teammate Graham Thorpe in Surrey, who is in charge of the England team, while head coach Chris Silverwood is quarantined in Melbourne after a family member tested positive for COVID-19.
Seam bowling coach Jon Lewis, spinning bowling coach Jeetan Patel and fitness coach Darren Veness also tested positive for the virus and were forced to stay in Melbourne.

Thorpe said that Holyoke played four Tests and 35 one-day international matches in the late 1990s, which would bring “a little bit of energy” to the locker room.
“Adam is not just another hand,” Thorpe told British media on Friday. “He can bring some energy to the locker room and the philosophical aspects of life, which is very important in such an era.
“He brings a great sense of perspective. But for me, it’s also about standing up. The players have a chance. We want to see the fight and character. I don’t want to see people bow their heads.
“It doesn’t make sense to do that. We have two games left in this series to let our players show their character, spirit and performance skills.”
Australian batsman Travis Head tested positive earlier on Friday and was therefore unable to participate in the Sydney test. Mitchell Marsh, Nic Maddinson and Josh Inglis have been called up as additional cover.
