The Australian cricket team said that Australian batsman Travis Head will miss the fourth Ashes Test against England in Sydney next week after testing positive for COVID-19.
Head will stay in Melbourne and quarantine for 7 days, preventing him from participating in the next test starting on January 5.
“As part of our testing program, we conduct PCR tests on players, their families and our support staff every day,” a CA spokesperson said.
“Unfortunately, Travis returned a positive COVID-19 result earlier today. Fortunately, he is asymptomatic at this stage. We expect that he will be able to participate in the fifth men’s Ash test in Hobart.”
