New Zealand’s veteran batsman Rose Taylor said he will retire from international cricket after the current domestic season.
The second test of Bangladesh next month will be his last, and he is likely to tie the record of 112 tests conducted by Daniel Vettori for New Zealand.

Taylor will not participate in the Black Caps test series against South Africa in February, but will play a one-day international series against Australia in February and play against the Netherlands at home in late March and early April.
Taylor’s fourth ODI against the Netherlands on April 4 in Hamilton, his hometown, will be his last game in New Zealand.
Taylor said in a statement on Thursday: “This is an amazing journey. I feel very lucky to be able to represent my country for so long.”
“It is an honor to be able to play with some great players and create so many memories and friendships in the process. But all good things must end, and the timing is right for me.”
Taylor will retire as New Zealand’s top scorer in the test and one-day international competition. He has 7,584 trial runs and 19th century, second only to the current captain Kane Williamson, in ODI 8,581 trial runs, ahead of Stephen Fleming (8,007). His 21 ODI centuries are also records in New Zealand.
Taylor made his debut in the 2008 game against South Africa and made his first appearance in the 233 ODI games against the West Indies in 2006. He also participated in 102 Twenty20 international competitions, becoming the first player to play more than 100 games for New Zealand in all three formats.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead (Gary Stead) said Taylor is undoubtedly one of the country’s greatest players.
