What mission is important to you?

Porterfield said that Callinex Mines Inc.’s mission is long-term and two-fold: find economic base metals among Canadian precious metals and help communities and the environment by staying away from hydrocarbons. He pointed out that, for example, the Canadian mining town of Flin Flon will face a wave of unemployment next year, and Callinex hopes to boost the local economy by establishing new mines and metal mining bases there in a more environmentally friendly way. .

How did you get into the mining industry?

Porterfield began his professional career in US Global Investors, Texas, where he was engaged in natural resource investment. He immigrated to Canada in 2012 and eventually became a Canadian citizen after cooperating with a number of mineral resource companies focused on uranium and gold. In 2014, he joined Callinex, where he shifted his focus to discovering high-grade gold and copper.

Tell us more about Callinex Mines Inc.

Porterfield explained that Callinex has assets in major Canadian jurisdictions and said the company focuses on mining camps with existing labor and infrastructure. Considering the costs of transportation, water and power supply, extremely remote areas are a high-risk business. However, staying in a Canadian mining area can reduce some of the risks and help significantly reduce the upfront capital cost, thereby lowering the threshold for economic viability of the deposit.

What made you decide to invest heavily in Callinex?

Porterfield pointed out that Callinex has grown rapidly and stated that its expertise in discovering high-grade copper and gold in Manitoba is unparalleled. He also stated that its share price has experienced significant growth recently and pointed to the track record of its technical experts, including founder and member of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Mike Muzylowski, who found 12 in the Flin Flon area of Manitoba VMS mine and James Pickell and Alan Vowels, because they discovered the 777 mine and Lalor mine in the Flin Flon mine respectively, they all won the PDAC Bill Dennis Prospector of the Year Award.

What is Callinex currently doing?

Porterfiled points to the rapidly expanding Rainbow deposit located in the Flin Flon mining area. Rainbow is a high-grade copper deposit, which also contains gold, silver and zinc, less than 500 meters from the hydroelectric power line and the historic shaft. Rainbow is a newly discovered deposit less than 30 minutes from the existing road at the Flin Flon processing facility in Massachusetts. The only mine currently in operation, the 777 mine, will be closed in May next year, and these facilities will require new feed. Given its high grade and clean low-cost electricity, Rainbow has the potential to provide the town with a sustainable future and clean copper supply.
