Our family spent a Christmas biscuit baking night together-everyone chose the biscuits they wanted to bake, and then we all bake the biscuits of our choice.
Guess what I did?Yes The easiest Christmas candy in the world. (This thing is addictive and delicious!)

My friend Kate gave this walker to Baby D, and he loved it! He especially likes to stroll around the Christmas tree.

One night, our family drove out to see the Christmas lights.

Jesse and I went to a Christmas party with other local foster families.

The girls made food for our all-day family Christmas celebration.

Caitlin did Cinnamon rolls This year. She used Our family’s favorite recipe.

All-day family Christmas (we celebrated on December 21st before going to Kansas) started at Cinnamon rolls, Sausage and orange juice for breakfast.

A photo that must be taken before giving the gift! ???? (Our good friend Isabel joined us in the morning.)

Kierstyn got the Duplo suit and she was very excited about it! Baby D likes to play it too!

The next morning, we loaded the car early and drove around 11 hours to Wichita, Kansas, to spend Christmas with our family.

We stopped at Lambert’s on the road! Baby D was fascinated by everything on the ceiling and walls.

Kierstyn is excited about hot rolls and butter!

We arrived in Springfield, Missouri and spent the night there. One of Kierstyn’s favorite things about hotels is getting up early for hotel breakfast!

Before we hit the road, we found a local coffee shop. (We like to try new local coffee shops when traveling!)

We also stopped at a crepe shop that highly recommended to us.

Two crepes are enough for all of us to share, because they are sweet and full!

Our first stop in Wichita? Braum’s burgers and fries! !

Our hotel has a small kitchen. As soon as I walked in the next day, I cooked some casseroles at home for brunch. This reminds me of cooking in our small kitchen in the basement.

I did Cottage Biscuit Bucket Potato Cake Casserole.

and Sausage, Egg and Cheese Casserole.

Make Lego toys in the hotel.

The sunset the next morning was beautiful.

Of course, the first thing we must do in the morning is to enjoy the hotel’s breakfast buffet.

Then I went to have brunch at grandma and grandpa’s house.

Look at his little feet on the jam! !

One of the highlights of Christmas is meeting my new nephew (my brother’s first son!)

My dad is looking for gifts for the children as usual this year.

Christmas morning: Head to the hotel for breakfast!

We introduced Kierstyn to Kinder Joys on this trip!

Wait patiently for Christmas gifts!

Kierstyn wants to “help” everyone open their gifts.

Play with Explosion Kitty after receiving the gift.

After spending Christmas morning with Jesse’s family, we headed to my house for Christmas lunch.

We exchanged gifts for white elephants this year.

Then he returned to Jesse’s house to eat dinner, play games and put on stockings.

(Yes, that’s Catherine opening her stockings there!)
My 10 goals for this week
When looking back at what worked and what didn’t work in 2021, and what changes and different approaches I wanted to make in 2022, one thing that kept coming up was that I didn’t set a weekly goal. I will detail what I have learned in an upcoming post, but for now, I am very happy to be able to bring them back every week to take on the responsibility and focus it gives me.
So, this is my goal this week… (Note: We have been traveling most of the week, so my goals will look different from when we were at home.)
Personal goals
- Make Spotify playlists with my favorite and exciting songs.
- Delete 5000 photos and videos from my phone.
Reading goal
Family goals
- Have a family game night.
- Go on a date with Jesse.
Business/blog goals
- Write a post about my 2022 goals.
- Write an article on a popular book I read in 2021.
Book goal
- Read 10 chapters + introduction and conclusion aloud to Jesse.
- Write 3000 words for the end of the book.
