Cricket South Africa (CSA) has released the latest schedule for India’s South Africa Tour to be held later this month.Earlier, the series will start on December 17, but now it will start on December 26
The first test of the three-game series will be held at the SuperSport Park in Centurion from December 26th to 30th (Boxing Day Test). The second test will be held at Rangers Stadium in Johannesburg from January 3-7, 2022 (New Year’s Test). The test series will be held from January 11th to 15th in Newlands, Cape Town, for the third game of the series.
The first two games of the ODI series will be held on January 19th and January 21st at Boland Park in Paarl. The third game will be held in Newlands, Cape Town on January 23. India should also participate in four T20I games during the tour, but BCCI recently revealed that these games will be played later.
Confirming the timetable, the official CSA announced:
“Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to confirm the updated schedule for the Indian Men’s South Africa Tour. As announced over the weekend, the tour has been reduced from three series to two: Betway test and one-day tour with Indian Cricket Control After the successful cooperation of the Commission (BCCI), the International Series will be held in four venues from December 26 to January 23, 2022.”
“The test series will be part of the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship, and the ODI series will be conducted as a bilateral,” CSA added.
India captain Virat Kohli shared his views on the upcoming South Africa Tour, saying that after the team defeated New Zealand in the Mumbai Test, “South Africa is a good challenge. India has never won a test series in South Africa. They lost the previous series 1-2 in the first two games.
