As Perth’s ashes test questioned strict COVID-19 rules, Victorian authorities have requested the Australian cricket team to bring the series back to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Victoria’s Sports Minister Martin Pakula said that MCG had already held the third test between Australia and England in the traditional Boxing Day schedule on December 26, but the third test began on January 14. In the five and final games, there will be an “undeniable” reason to replace Perth.
Pakula told reporters on Wednesday: “Of course, the Victorian government has made it clear to the Australian Cricket Association that if the Perth test cannot be carried out, we are not only preparing to hold the fifth test, but also very keen to hold the fifth test.”

“If they can’t reach Perth and this is a business decision, then I think MCG’s statement is almost undeniable.

Before Pakula’s comments, other states have expressed similar interest, including New South Wales and Tasmania where the fourth exam was held in Sydney.
On Tuesday, the Governor of Western Australia, Mark McGowan (Mark McGowan) said that after the Sydney test on January 5-9, players and staff will need to be quarantined for 14 days after they arrive from New South Wales. Perth will hold an ash test. Hope plummeted.
