On Saturday, Indian left arm spinner Axar Patel recorded his fifth five-door match in the fourth test match against New Zealand at Kanpur’s Green Park.
Earlier in the day, he opened an account at the wicket of veteran Rose Taylor, and then added the precious scalps of Henry Nichols, Tom Latham, Tom Blundell and Tim Sossey to his count.
When Tyler left, blocked by a slow turner, Nichols missed a shot and was trapped in his leg. Then, after substitute goalkeeper KS Bharat beat Latham by 95 points, he went on to clear Southee and Blundell.
He now has tied for the second most five times in the first four personal tests with British Tom Richardson and Australian Rodney Hogg. Australia’s Charlie Turner led the leaderboard with six games in the first four test matches.
