  • The long-range Hypertruck ERX™ will provide 75 miles of fully electric cruising range and over 1,000 miles of total cruising range at the time of product launch

  • The increased all-electric range will comply with California’s advanced clean truck rules and make production vehicles eligible for zero-emission vehicle sales points

  • Hypertruck ERX™ enables fleets to achieve net negative emissions while charging batteries with renewable natural gas (RNG)

Helion Holdings. (New York Stock Exchange:shelf) (“Hyliion”), a leader in the electrification of powertrain solutions for Category 8 semi-truck, today announced the launch of a long-range variant of Hypertruck ERX™, which will be the first version to be marketed. This enhanced option will provide 75 miles of all-electric cruising range and will enable production trucks equipped with Hypertruck ERX™ to comply with California’s Advanced Clean Truck (ACT) rules and thus qualify for Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) points.

Hypertruck ERX™ will provide a total cruising range of more than 1,000 miles, achieving cargo capacity comparable to diesel. The innovative electric powertrain system uses on-board generators to continuously charge the battery pack while driving, eliminating the major cruising range and charging infrastructure challenges currently faced by pure battery electric trucks. Hypertruck ERX™ also has a plug-in function, allowing the fleet to flexibly use low-cost renewable electricity from the grid for charging.

“At Hyliion, we agree that climate protection and air quality improvement are imminent. However, for long-distance fleet operators whose success is centered on reliable freight delivery, there is no room for error when looking for viable diesel alternatives,” Hyliion said. Founder and CEO Thomas Healy said. “This is why Hyliion is partnering with major truck manufacturers to provide remote iterations of Hypertruck ERX™, and assisting freight fleets to achieve key emission reduction missions required by California and other states without compromising range, operating costs or performance.”

The platform adopts a modular approach to meet OEM needs, meet fleet needs and meet government requirements,…
