Investing.com-Visa (NYSE:) A announced on Tuesday its third-quarter results exceeded analysts’ expectations, and its revenue also exceeded expectations.
Visa A announced earnings per share of US$1.49 and revenue of US$6.13B. Analysts surveyed by Investing.com expect earnings per share of $1.34 and revenue of $5.85B.
Visa A shares rose 14% from the beginning of the year, but still fell 0.67% from the 52-week high of US$252.61 set on July 27. Their performance lags behind the Dow Jones Index, which rose 14.55% at the beginning of the year.
After the report was released, Visa A shares fell 1.17% in after-hours trading.
Visa A follows the earnings of other major information technology sectors this month
Visa A’s report was released after Apple’s earnings on Tuesday exceeded expectations. The company reported earnings per share of $1.3 and revenue of $81.43B, while forecasted earnings per share were $1.01 and revenue of $73.26B.
Microsoft exceeded expectations on Tuesday, with earnings per share of $2.17 and revenue of $46.15 in the fourth quarter, while expected earnings per share were $1.91 and revenue of $44.06.
