Allegro ophthalmology, LLC, a privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of new oxidative stress stabilizers for the treatment of eye diseases, announced today that all major and minor studies of ALG-1007 topical eye drops for patients with former vehicle control in the US The end point suffers from dry eye syndrome (DED).The results are presented by Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD 2021 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and American Academy of Ophthalmologists (ASCRS ASOA) Annual Meeting In Las Vegas.1
The study authors determined that ALG-1007 is a fixed combination of 0.6% risuteganib and 0.125% sodium hyaluronate in the carrier solution, and showed the highest efficacy among the four study groups containing various combinations of solution components (p<.001 ). No adverse events, eye irritation, or long-term blurred vision were reported in the study. Compared with control patients, patients receiving ALG-1007 achieved statistically significantly better results in tear breakup time, poor corneal staining, and dry eye management scale and visual analog scale scores. The statistical significance compared to the control was seen as early as 2 weeks.
