Detroit, July 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – Detroit Mercy University Received one USD 1.12 million Received funding from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to establish the Metropolitan-Detroit Area Vehicle Cyber Security Institute, which is a region-based cyber security alliance.
The consortium is led by Detroit Mercy and consists of multiple academic institutions in the Southeast Michigan And include University of Arizona As a research partner. The alliance will strengthen the network security engineering staff through application courses developed in consultation with industry partners. It also supports the upgrading and retraining of vehicle cybersecurity skills by prioritizing underrepresented populations, military personnel, and veterans. Teaching will begin this fall.
The grant was granted through the Griffith Institute’s Virtual Institute for Research and Employment in the Network and Electromagnetic Spectrum (VICEROY) program, which establishes a network research institute in higher education…
