Weslaco, Texas (Reuters)-Former President Donald Trump’s latest effort to regain national attention went to the US-Mexico border on Wednesday, accusing President Joe Biden of neglecting national security by removing border controls.
Trump, speaking in front of the unfinished border wall, said that his Democratic successor had decided to cancel his tough policy, which led to an increase in illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
“Biden is destroying our country,” Trump said.
Trump is still one of the most influential figures in Republican politics and has stated that he will run for president again in 2024.
