At least one person died after the partial collapse of a Miami-Dade residential building

Roommates, we are praying to people in Miami who were affected by the partial building collapse that occurred earlier on Thursday.At present, at least one person has been confirmed dead, and someone saw a little boy being pulled to safety behind the building collapse.

according to NBC NewsRecords show that this 12-story building is called Champlain Towers South, located in Surfside, and was built in 1981. The building consists of more than 100 residential units.However, it is not clear how many people were in the collapse before 2 am

Rescue and search work is currently underway. At least 10 people are receiving treatment at the scene and dozens of others have been displaced. Two local hospitals confirmed that they had accepted at least three people, two of whom were reportedly in critical condition.

Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett said that the roof of the building is being repaired, adding that
“But you never think that this is the problem. I think this is a catastrophic failure of that building.”

Mayor Burckett continued: “The Miami-Dade Fire Department is great. They have gone in and they risked their lives there. I mean we don’t know if the rest of that building will collapse.”

Sergeant Surfside Police. Marian Cruz said: “This is a very active scene. I recommend everyone stay away from the area so that fire rescue and officials can rescue and do what we need to do.”

More than 50 people are missing.
