The man who represented himself in the double murder trial of his girlfriend and daughter went viral because of his opening statement (video)

A Florida man was accused of murdering his girlfriend and 9-year-old autistic daughter in 2018. The man is becoming popular after he chose to represent himself in his murder trial. Ronnie O’Neill also faces charges of attempted murder for allegedly trying to kill his 8-year-old son.

“The evidence will show that I love my children,” O’Neill screamed at the jurors in his opening statement. “The evidence will prove to you that the entire case has been tampered with and fabricated.”

O’Neill was photographed by cameras yelling at the jurors for most of the nearly 30-minute statement.

“And the evidence will show that the law enforcement agencies have tampered with the evidence to meet their high burden of proof!” O’Neill shouted. “Because originally, this was not enough! So we had to tamper with the evidence, because it was already obvious, but we still had to (tamper) the evidence.”

Although Oneal’s performance is very dramatic, the jury will hear the terrible details of the murders of Oneal’s girlfriend Kenyatta Barron and 9-year-old daughter Ronavia in the next few days.

Oneal was accused of shooting his girlfriend and killing her with a shotgun, repeatedly stabbing his daughter with an axe, then stabbing his son, and then lighting the boy and their house.

His 11-year-old son miraculously survived the attack. On Wednesday, he stood with his father.

The boy was also named Ronnie, and he testified about the terrible night and what his father did to him.

“My mother ran to my sister’s room and ran into the closet,” Ronnie Jr. testified, according to reports Fox 13“Then, it was like, my dad said,’Come in and kill this B-word,'” he said, adding that he heard the explosion of a shotgun.

Young Ronnie went on to explain how he witnessed his father killing his sister. Before turning around, he chopped her with an axe twice.

“There is blood everywhere,” the boy said slowly. “Then he lit something with a paper towel and a match… He tried to light the match and set me ablaze. I got up and ran into the kitchen.”

The court allowed O’Neill to cross-examine his son, and this exchange was heartbreaking.

“It’s nice to meet you, man,” Onar told his son, and he replied, “It’s nice to see you too.”

Oneal pointed out that his son’s comments during the testimony contradicted what he told detectives and lawyers in the past few years.

“Did I hurt you the night of this incident?” O’Neill asked his son. “Yes,” the boy replied.

“How did I hurt you?” O’Neill continued.

“You stabbed me,” young Ronnie said.

Surprisingly, the judge praised Oneal’s performance in court on Wednesday and said she was recording that he seemed very capable of continuing the trial.
