Two teenagers have been jailed for allegedly shooting and killing a security guard outside the Apple Store in the upscale Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead, Atlanta.

According to Atlanta police, the two 15-year-olds, a man and a woman, allegedly tried to enter the store a few hours later on Sunday night when security approached them.

Police said the guard was shot once in the torso before the teenager escaped. Atlanta Police Department Deputy Commissioner Charles Hampton said at a press conference that the security guard was a man in his 40s who was in a critical but stable condition on Monday.

According to Hampton Reports, the shopping mall closed at 6 pm on Sunday, but the police believe that after the shooting, the teenagers’ “ultimate goal is to try to enter the Apple Store”, but they were unsuccessful. ABC News.

Hampton added that after the shooting, these teenagers “definitely wanted to hide their clothes” and that they apparently threw something while escaping.

Witnesses at the mall described the suspect to the police. Within 10 minutes, the police said they found the two teenagers outside the nearby Westin Hotel because the police had set up a cordon around the mall.

The police said the two teenagers were arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, serious assault, tampering with evidence, possession of firearms by persons under the age of 18, and possession of firearms during the execution of a felony.

The police added that a gun was found at the scene. Since the suspects are minors, their identities will not be determined.

The investigation is ongoing, and Hampton added that the police are looking for the driver of a blue car who may take the teenager to the mall for robbery.

Hampton said: “In advancing the prosecution process, we are working closely with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.”

Lenox Square Shopping Center has the following content, “We cannot find strong enough words to condemn this violent and unprovoked behavior against important members of the security team who provide after-get off work patrols outside the shopping center.
