Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos will have to hope that the third time is a charm, as their second postponement of their fight for Lopez’s three lightweight titles postponed the conflict to August 14. Triller founder Ryan Kavanagh Told reporters on Tuesday that Lopez tested positive for COVID-19 and postponed the game originally scheduled for June 19.
The game was originally scheduled to be held on June 5th, the day before the performance clash between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. The battle was subsequently postponed for two weeks and now faces another two months of postponement.
Since making Vasiliy Lomachenko upset in October last year, Lopez still hopes to compete for the first time, adding WBA and WBO titles to his defeat of Richard Comey in December 2019 (Richard Commey) IBF belt won at the time.
The delay may have an additional impact, because after signing a revised agreement with Top Rank, Lopez is expected to participate in the competition in early October, resolving some of the tensions accumulated in the past year and leading to Lopez and Campo Soth made a bid, and the bid was won by Triller at more than twice the price of the second highest bid.
Lopez’s entire undercard of Kambosos is also expected to be transferred to the new August 14th delay.
