CMMC aims to ensure that all Department of Defense (DoD) contractors have adequate security controls to protect Federal Confidential Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). CMMC is in the first year of a five-year phased rollout plan that ends in September 2025. To obtain CMMC certification, DIB partners and contractors must assess the current state of their cyber security environment to measure their current cyber security maturity level (ie CMMC maturity level 1-5). The CMMC assessment must be performed by C3PAO.
“Our company has been performing high-quality network-related assessments for our customers for a long time, such as NIST 800-171 and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) audits. Achieving candidate CMMC C3PAO status will allow us to take advantage of our expertise in this area. Enrich the knowledge space to help protect the country’s supply chain,” said Loren Schwartz, lead partner of Assurance Practice.
Cotton & Company is also a CMMC Registered Supplier Organization (RPO).
