Manchester United’s Lingard, Southampton midfielder Ward Prouss and Everton’s Godfrey also participated in two friendly matches in England, but White played with Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mins on Sunday. After conceding zero goals together, they got a nod.

White was called up after an impressive 2020-21 season in Brighton, which allowed him to cement his reputation as one of the most stable defenders in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old played 36 top games for the Seagulls last semester, helping them avoid a decline and finishing 16th.

On Sunday afternoon, England began their European Cup match against Croatia at Wembley.
Southgate’s team will play against Scotland on June 18, and then complete the D group against the Czech Republic in four days.
