Former Indian Opener Sunil Gavaskar has hailed MS Dhoni for his calm attitude. He said that players don’t feel pressed when MS Dhoni is captaining the side.
RCB appeared to be coasting despite needing to reach a massive 227-run total to win thanks to a century stand between Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis for the third wicket. But, Dhoni maintained his composition and produced some astute bowling adjustments that caused RCB to lose wickets on a regular basis.

Moreover, MS Dhoni produced two outstanding high catches, which was the deciding factor in CSK’s eight-run victory. Here is what Sunil Gavaskar had to say about Dhoni’s composure in his interview with Star Sports:
“Players don’t feel much pressure when MS Dhoni is leading the side. He’s utterly cool and that helps. He stays in the moment and never gets carried away.
“Yes, he gives them some stars once they drop catches or miss field but he never puts them under pressure. That is the reason why CSK manage to brave crunch situations more often than not,” Gavaskar concluded.
Chennai had to defend in difficult conditions for bowlers, with dew being a factor, so they required a huge first-innings total. With his amazing 83-ball opening innings, Devon Conway made sure that the visitors gained much-needed momentum and reached a final score of 226/6.
Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, described how Conway experimented with RCB bowling in an interview with Star Sports. He stated:
“Devon Conway’s batting style is very similar to that of Michael Hussey. Once he starts scoring runs, he does not stop. His specialty was that as Faf du Plessis changed fielding positions, Conway took advantage of that and played shots in the gap.”
With their 10th IPL victory over RCB at the Chinnaswamy, Chennai Super Kings appear to relish playing there.
